Telehealth: The Key to Reaching Those with the Greatest Needs.  Although the diversity of the population in contemporary America is one of its greatest assets, the richness of this feature is overshadowed by the reality of fear and anger concerning Violence in our Homes, Workplace and Schools, Bullying, Physical and Sexual Abuse.

Clearly, the soundest investment that can be made for the present and immediate future is a strengthened commitment to greater access to health care.

Trauma Services Associates’ Telehealth model is a participatory community-based approach to prevention.  This multi-level, community participatory strategy will yield several important and successful outcomes.  One of the areas that will emerge as a priority will be the need to develop more innovative and practical interventions to increase access to mental health care and information, break down the barriers of mistrust and neglect that often exist in the large inner city urban areas among economically and educationally disenfranchised groups, and develop new methods of determining and monitoring the level of unmet need in relation to populations traumatized and suffering from untreated mental and physical health concerns.

W.H.Y.™ – “We Hear You™” – Kiosk is Trauma Services Associates answer to greater access and our primary Telehealth Tool.  W.H.Y.™ Kiosk is developed with multiple components that comprise a proposed overall program of wellness.  Each unit will include a community outreach component, real-time clinicians via telemedicine, shared scientific resources, an educational component, on-line resources, toll-free access, and an administrative component.   Some of the components are designed to function independently of the Kiosk in addition to adding to its capabilities. To Learn More Go To www.camelot-enterprises.biz

Community Outreach and Dissemination

The mission of the community outreach and information dissemination component is to integrate the W.H.Y.™ Kiosk into the local community as a crisis prevention and educational resource.  Trauma Services Associates will ensure that the Kiosk are strategically placed and manned in the targeted communities, as a way to influence equitable access to mental health care.

Real Time Clinicians

The real time clinician component via telemedicine plays a key role in the coordination and operation of the proposed W.H.Y.™ Kiosk.  Through this practice face-to-face treatment will become less common.  The client will choose from a list of clinicians that appear on the Kiosk screen.  Consultation typically takes no more than 15 minutes and the clinician will offer mental health advice, or refer the client to his/her local care provider for further care.  To schedule an on-site presentation contact us at Our Technology Division: www.camelot-enterprises.biz

Shared Resources

Shared resources are intended to enhance opportunities for investigators and pharmaceutical companies to take advantage of new technologies that could enhance and broaden their research initiatives.  While research, per se is not conducting at the Kiosk, quality assurance activities that evaluate the operation, resources, quality and utilization of empirical data that are directed at problem identification and improvement of delivery of services are appropriate.

Some examples of shared resources are:

o       Services and Training

o       Patient Coordination

o       Information Processing

o       Data Management

o       Statistical Services

In collaborative partnerships and consortium arrangement, priority must be given to creating newly developed share resource activities directed towards predominately minority-serving health initiatives.  This component is also designed to function in stand-alone mode via website or telephone.

Educational Component

An educational component will focus on efforts to augment existing or create new curricula through the institution.  It would comprise and culturally sensitize clinicians, investigators, community trainers, public health advocates, of the need to reduce and eliminate disparities in mental health status among the nations’ ethnic and racial groups and the medically underserved.  All programs offer culturally and linguistically relevant training and treatment.  This component is also designed to function in stand-alone mode via website or telephone.

On-Line Resources

The On-Line resource provides regional information and access to local emergency services.  It will provide information on mental health products and services and links to the networks affiliated with Trauma Services Associates.  These websites will also provide chat rooms where a client may receive answers to questions in a near real-time manner.  This component is also designed to function in stand-alone mode via website from any computer or web-based device.

Toll-Free Access (Coming Soon)

The Toll-Free solution is 1-877-7Hear Me™.  The originating call will be answered by individuals who are trained screeners and have experienced traumatic events in their own lives.  The calls will be screened and forwarded to an on-call clinician.

This component is also designed to function in stand-alone by calling directly via telephone

Administrative Component

Every component of Trauma Services Associates – whether technology-driven or otherwise – will contain an empirical element.  Gathering information – while maintaining confidentiality - is paramount to the service.  Determining what services are requested, where, and by whom - is crucial.  TSA will design databases that are specific to each area and that not only help screeners to ask the right questions but help us process and analyze the scale as well.

Hand-Held Screening Instrument: The screeners’ primary mobile information-gathering tool.  TSA will design and implement a hand-held screening tool that allows our agents to go where the neediest are located and gather information without the “cumbersome and dreaded clipboard.”   This device also makes processing and analyzing information quicker and more efficient .TSA would “download” the information onto a system where it will assessed in a manageable format.

Technical SupportTSA will provide on-site/off-site technical support for all devices we install.  That support includes limited training, product warranty, parts replacement, and services and maintenance agreements.
